Dennis, 46, was stabbed to death inside a restaurant by suspect Jihad Musallam, 38, as he was inspecting the facility. The suspect, a former employee at the restaurant, walked into the facility while Dennis was in his vehicle when the suspect approached him and began stabbing him. Another person was also stabbed during the incident but expected to survive. Dennis had a 15-year career with the Environmental Health Division of Sacramento County. "He was a model employee who was very dedicated to his job. He had a passion for public health and truly cared about people in the community. He was well respected by his peers who enjoyed his lively personality and deeply appreciated his professional integrity," stated the County. He left behind a wife and a young daughter.
