Dog Attack

Jacqueline Beard was an Environmental Supervisor with the State of Alabama's Public Health Department. She had dedicated public service there for nearly 17 years. She went to investigate a complaint of a person who was attacked by a pack of dogs in a rural area of northwest Alabama. Deputies were called about a suspicious vehicle along a road where they discovered Jacqueline dead outside the vehicle. While on scene, the dogs began attacking another resident and law enforcement. The owner of the dogs has been arrested and charged with manslaughter without bail. Alabama Department of Public Health leadership remembered her and her coworkers as an exceptional, technical, and professional worker and was loved by those who worked with her.
