Joe Schier

Joe passed away due to complications from COVID-19. He was the fifth known Officer to pass away due to COVID-19 and served the City of Norman for over 16 years. He was also a Board of Director member for the Oklahoma Code Enforcement Association (OCEA). A memory shared by a colleague on Facebook stated: "There are so many beautiful memories of Joe, it is hard to reduce it to one. A few years ago, Joe had an open code violation case with a Norman resident. In his usual caring manner, Joe connected with the homeowner and discovered the resident was unable to mow. Without reservation, Joe mowed the lawn for her, setting a powerful example of kindness towards others."
