John Thibault

Poundkeeper Thibault got into a dispute with a resident, Ross, over damage done by some animals. During the argument, Ross struck Thibault on the head with a heavy piece of wood, causing a skull fracture. Thibault died several days later. Ross was arrested for murder but was acquitted after testimony was presented that Thibault first attacked Ross with an axe during the dispute. Ross claimed self-defense.
