Ohio Building Officials Pursuing Officer Safety

OBOA is seeking input through a survey regarding officer safety

Ohio - The Ohio Building Officials Association (OBOA) is seeking input on officer safety. The survey can be completed by any official, not just those in Ohio.

The Ohio Building Officials Association’s (OBOA) Legislation and By-Laws Committee is seeking information from OBOA members and non-members to better understand their experiences and views related to code compliance officer safety and statutory protections.

The questionnaire concerns code compliance officers — those who enforce building, environmental, fire, health, property maintenance, and zoning codes.

Responses will be used to develop OBOA’s positions and priorities.

The Foundation supports OBOA and their efforts to gather information to support officer safety. Please take 2 minutes to complete these online survey. Last month, a Building Commissioner was murdered in City Hall over a code enforcement case. Let’s continue to work together and promote Officer safety in our profession!
